Mel Croucher | The Automata Archive

Here we are then, the official archive of Automata, the first dedicated video games company in the UK. All the advertising that appeared on the back pages of Popular Computing Weekly, screenshots from nearly all of those primitive games, a load of sketch artwork, and as many photos from back then as we could find.

The archive via the sliding menu above covers the entire period that the original Automata company was led by Mel Croucher, from 19th November 1977 to All Fools Day 1985. The stuff in the slideshows below is material produced under the much more recent Automata Source banner, from November 19th 2012 onwards.
